A revolution in communication, following the convergence and integration of communication technologies, has had its impact on journalism and mass communication. Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication programme caters to the growing demand for professionally trained personnel in the field of journalism and mass communication. The post graduate programme is structured to help students acquire skills which would enable them to work in different media like newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, PR department, ad agencies ad also in the areas of research. Though the emphasis of training is on the print media, the course also provides an understanding of communications, its evolution, technology and its role in the twenty first century with particular reference to recent developments in the application of electronic media and information technology. It also offers an opportunity for an in-depth study through a dissertation in the field of mass communication.
