Aims and Objectives

  • Develop a grasp of fundamental graphic design principles, including typography, color theory, layout, and composition.
  • Create visually appealing designs that effectively communicate messages through well-structured layouts and typography.
  • Design for both print and digital mediums, ensuring adaptability to various formats.
  • Apply creative problem-solving and consider cultural and ethical aspects in design work.

Certificate Course Outcomes

Upon completing this graphic designing certificate course participants are expected to achieve:

MODULE OUTLINE

Module 1: Introduction to Graphic Designing & Software and Tools

Overview of graphic design and its importance, Introduction to graphic design software, Familiarization with the user interface, Basic image editing and manipulation techniques,

Module 2: Typography, Colour Theory, Layout and Composition

Study of typography: fonts, typefaces, kerning, tracking, leading - Introduction to grids and layout principles - Practical exercise: Design a simple poster- Advanced color theory –

Composition techniques: rule of thirds, focal points, visual balance- Practical exercise: Create a digital artwork

Module 3: Introduction to Vector Graphics & Designing for Print and Digital Media

Basics of print design, Preparing files for print production, Designing for different screen sizes and devices, Web Designing Basics (Banners, Social Media Graphics), Creating Print-ready documents.
