Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)

Commerce is one of the most popular academic choices in India. While pursuing a course in this field, one acquires knowledge related to corporate finance, stock markets and the inner financial functioning of various profit and non-profit institutions and the economy. The concept of trade and commerce consists of a wide range of interdisciplinary branches such as Accountancy, Business Administration, E-Commerce, Economics and Taxation laws, etc

Eligibility: In order to get into an undergraduate commerce program, candidates must have cleared their 10+2, preferably in commerce, from any recognized state/national board as per the University of Calicut eligibility norms.

Bachelor of Computer Sciences

B.Sc Computer Science is a three year undergraduate course in computer science.
The Department trains the students to deal with computer programming.The major scope is on giving students a sound background in computer programming, statistical methods and mathematics, relevant to information technology.The Department moulds young outstanding professionals who are academically strong in both theory and practical. Computer Science is an area which can create a platform for students to step in to the IT world. 


 The course objective can be stated as follows:

  1. To develop problem solving abilities using a computer. 
  2. To build the necessary skill-sets and analytical abilities for developing computer based solutions for real life problems.

Scope and opportunities

 As IT industry is rapidly developing all over the world, candidates who have completed this course can find lot of job opportunities in the IT field. Both private and public sector firms are providing IT jobs for graduates. Some of the job titles are application developer, software developer, technical specialist, system administrator, Web developer, system integration engineer, technical support engineer, etc. There are also different higher degree or diploma courses available for the graduates. Some of the options in higher studies are Master in Business Management in Computer Management, Master of Computer Management, Master of Philosophy in Computer Science, Master of Science by Research in Computer and Information Science, Master of Science in Applied Mathematics with Oceanology and Computer Programming, Master of Science in Computer Science and Technology, etc. In addition, there are several PG diploma programmes as well as certificate programmes.

Bachelor of Psychology (Bsc Psychology)

BSc Psychology is another important bachelor’s programme offered by LISSAH. The course familiarizes the students with various psychological theories and prepares them to assess the current psycho-social problems to promote a healthy society. Practical experiments in psychological lab are a speciality of this course. After passing BSc psychology, students can opt for MSc Clinical Psychology, MSc Applied Psychology, MSc Counselling, MSc Sports Psychology, MSc Industrial Psychology, MSW, MBA, MHRM and similar professional courses.
